17th October 2016 - Musgrave to Wonga Beach via The Bloomfield Track

Heading south once again, we finally said a fond farewell to our friends from WA and another couple from NSW.

The large trucks kick up quite a dust storm

You cannot see where you are going - luckily the roads are mostly wide!

It was quite a long drive today as we headed south passed Hahn River, Laura & Lakeland down towards the Bloomfield Track and the coast, crossing Wallaby Creek, Whitehead Creek and Bloomfield River.

The Lion's Den Hotel

Tezza enjoying a cool drink at the Lion's Den

This pub used to be a real outback pub only a few years ago with some patrons (miners etc) arriving by horseback but these days it is not so remote with many tourists finding their way there.  (Jacqui & Steve will remember visiting it years ago when it was a very basic establishment).

The Lion's Den

We must be nearing civilisation as there are bridges over the creeks now or at least the bigger ones! But there are still dirt roads so not quite there yet!
